Embedded
We mainly work with two types of projects:
Our consultants work within client organisations and with client personnel, rather than in separate consultant-only teams. The above types of projects include a substantial proportion of projects where support from external consultants are required. It is worth mentioning that the other types comprise of projects where each project requires a large number of consultants because of the scope of work or lack of availability of the right resources in-house. We are not well-suited for such large projects, though we can work as SMEs along side other consultancies.
Experienced
As experienced and senior life sciences consultants, with decades of experience in the industry, we are not learning at the client’s cost. As a group, our consultants have collectively more than 150 years of experience (at the time of writing!) in the industry, covering mainly R&D and Commercial. The experience includes both consulting and senior management roles in the industry and a proven track record of problem-solving and adding value in challenging business situations.
Flexible
Our consultants have a fair degree of flexibility in project delivery. For example, we do not insist that a consultant has to be full-time for the duration of the project. Depending on project requirements, it is quite usual for the consultant to be part-time for the duration of the project and even vary days per week during different stages of the project. In some cases, a couple of our consultants will tag team in a project, both working part-time utilising their different skills in a way best suited to the project’s requirements. In other cases, when the project needs to be paused due to unforeseen reasons, you will find that easier to do with our consultants than with larger consultancies.
WYSIWIG
When we propose for a project, we aim to bring in the consultant(s) who will be responsible for delivery of the project right from the outset. We use the term WYSIWIG for this - Who You See Is Who You Get! This is unlike most consultancies where the project is often ‘sold’ by senior consultants (Partner level) but project delivery is undertaken by more junior people.
Value
We have an operating model adapted to modern times. We don’t have offices and admin overheads. Our consultants work mostly from home offices travelling to client offices as required. We use outsourced service providers on an as-needed basis for a range of business functions (accounting, legal, IT). This allows us to keep our rates competitive.
Network benefits
Our consultant have come together under one umbrella to share knowledge and best practices. Recognising that one of the ‘secret sauces’ of large consultancies is their accumulated knowledge from past projects across multiple clients, we facilitate a similar sharing of knowledge and best practices among our consultants through a number or measures (webinars, virtual library, subscriptions, etc).
